Section 2
We offer intensive & crash driving courses throughout Leicester, Hinckley, Loughborough, Coalville, Nuneaton, Wigston, Ashby, Melton, Lutterworth and surrounding area. We have in the past successfully taught many pupils from around the U.K, who have come and stayed or travelled into the area to do an intensive / crash driving course with us.
Section 3
This depends a little on your personality, and ability to adapt to new things, intensive & crash driving courses are not only more frequent lessons over a short period of time the actual teaching will be more Intensive. You will be working towards a dead line, i.e. your driving test date. You will not have the luxury of several months to prepare for your driving test. Our intensive driving instructors will offer you 100% commitment; in return you will also need to give the same amount of dedication.
Taking that aside though, intensive / crash driving courses can be exhilarating and very rewarding. If you need to pass your driving test within a short period of time and do not wish to take several months to do it, then an Intensive course is for you.
Intensive driving courses also work very well for people who lead a busy life style and feel they forget most of what they have learned from the previous driving lesson on the 1 or two lessons per week ratio.
Intensive / crash courses are also not only for the confident pupils, in our experience nervous students also benefit, rather than going through the stress and nerves of a lesson each week. It seems better for them to get it done and out the way as quick as possible.
If you feel though after reading through our website a full intensive is not for you, then please visit our sister website about other lessons we offer.
Section 4
Taking into account that most pupils take around 40 driving lessons over a year period at an average driving lesson price of £22.50 that equals £900.00. We offer three different intensive / crash driving courses. They Are:

The upside to an intensive / crash driving course
The upside to an intensive / crash driving course is that you could be on the road in a very short period of time and saving your self money as you do, because your driving lessons are more frequent the amount of tuition you need is usually reduced. Also Access Direct only offer one to one driving instruction giving you 100% of the instructor's time. Intensive courses have a higher pass rate due to all the driver training put in prior to the test date.
• Pass your test and be on the road
fast
• Saves you money
• Higher than normal pass rate
• One to one instruction
• Intensive courses suit nervous and confident pupils
• An enjoyable way to learn to drive
The downside to an intensive / crash driving course
The downsides to doing an intensive / crash driving course is the initial outlay of funds, not everyone has a few hundred pounds spare or able to take a week off work, or time away from college. Intensive course’s can be quite strenuous mentally and physically.
• The initial out lay of money
• Taking time of work or college
• Physically and mentally demanding
Section 7
Taking the theory test
Your hazard perception and driving theory test really needs to be taken before you book the intensive driving course, the reasons being we cannot book your practical driving test until you have a valid theory test pass certificate.
If you need help in booking your theory test then please give us a call and we will be happy to help.
The driving theory test is made up of two parts; the multiple choice part
and the hazard perception part. You need to pass both parts to pass the theory
test. Once you have passed the theory test you can then apply to take your
practical driving test.
Part one – Multiple Choice
A question and several answer options will appear on a computer screen and
you have to select the correct answer to the question by touching the screen.
Some questions may require more than one answer.
You will be asked 50 questions in 57 minutes and the pass mark is 43 out of
50.
Part two-Hazard Perception
The hazard perception part is also delivered on a computer but you respond
by clicking a button on the mouse. You'll be presented with a series of 14
video clips, which feature every day road scenes. In each clip there'll be
at least one developing hazard, but one of the clips will feature two developing
hazards. To achieve a high score you'll need to respond to the developing hazard during
the early part of its development. The maximum you can score on each hazard
is five. The pass mark for the car hazard perception part of the theory test
is 44 out of 75.
You need your photo card and the paper counterpart of your Driving Licence.
Theory Test booking line is - 0300 200 1122
Section 8
We will make sure you arrive at the test
centre in plenty of time, try to relax do not turn the examiner into some
mystical monster.
Practical driving test will include an eyesight check (your instructor will have already checked your eye sight).
Vehicle Safety Check Questions
These will be asked at the beginning of you practical driving test.
These are basic safety checks that a driver should carry out to ensure the vehicle is safe for use. Although some checks may involve the candidate in opening the bonnet to identify where fluid levels would be checked, pupils will not be asked to touch a hot engine or physically check fluid levels. Your driving instructor will have comprehensively covered this subject with you before the practical driving test. Please Click Here for information.
The practical test
During the driving test the examiner will give you directions, which you should follow. Test routes are designed to be as uniform as possible and will include a range of typical road and traffic conditions. During the driving test, the examiner will ask you to carry out set exercises.
Throughout the test you should drive in the way your driving instructor has
taught you. If you make a mistake, don't worry about it, it might be a less
serious driving fault and may not affect your result. The driving examiner
will be looking for an overall safe standard of driving.
You can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test (16 or more results in failure). However, if you commit one serious or dangerous fault you will fail the test. Your driving instructor will have fully briefed you on what to expect on the practical driving test.
In your practical driving test there is an independent driving stage. Which is when you will be asked to drive independently for approximately 10 minutes. This will demonstrate to the examiner that you are able to follow verbal route directions or route direction signs, whilst still driving safely. The examiner will test you in one of three following ways, these are:
The examiner will give you a number of verbal route directions to follow. They may also show you a simple diagram of the route to help you follow the directions. An example of what the examiner may say is 'At the end of the road turn right, then take your second left, then at the roundabout follow the road ahead.'
Road Signs
The examiner will ask you to follow the direction signs to a specific destination until further notice. For an example 'I would like you to follow the signs towards Leicester until further notice.'
Or it could be both
The examiner may give you a combination of both direction signs and verbal directions to follow. For an example 'I would like you to take the first exist at the roundabout, the second road on the left, and then follow the signs towards Leicester'.
If you cannot remember what directions were given ask the examiner, and they will confirm them to you. If you go off the independent driving route it won't affect the result of your test unless you commit a driving fault. If you go off the route or take a wrong turn, the examiner will help you to get back on the route and continue with the independent driving. If there happens to be poor or obscured traffic signs, the examiner will give you directions until you can see the next traffic sign. If this happens the examiner would say, 'There are no signs here. Just continue ahead please' and then, 'Now, carry on following the signs to Leicester'
